A few final pieces of Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry’s ambitious tax reform agenda cleared the state House Thursday, with lawmakers approving a permanent 0.4% bump to the sales tax rate.
The House approved measures earlier this week flattening both the individual and corporate income taxes and eliminating the corporate franchise tax, but the chamber focused Thursday on bills to raise more than $6 billion over five years to pay for the cuts.
