Maryland Asks High Court to Uphold Digital Tax in Comcast Case

Comcast and Verizon brought their challenge to Maryland’s one-of-a-kind tax on digital advertising before the courts prematurely, the state comptroller told the Maryland high court in an effort to have the tax revived.

The Office of the Comptroller took issue in its opening brief to the Maryland Supreme Court with the fact that the communications companies didn’t wait to challenge the tax through the state’s administrative processes after the tax was assessed.
