The Pennsylvania House Finance Committee advanced a bill Tuesday that changes the commonwealth’s tax appeal process and corrects a recently enacted tax deduction for cannabis businesses that inadvertently excluded medical dispensaries.
The 25-member panel voted unanimously to advance HB 1994, which formalizes the Board of Finance and Revenue’s authority to initiate and oversee voluntary settlements in tax appeals and creates an alternative settlement process, allowing taxpayers to avoid lengthy and expensive court battles.
