Elizabeth Askey, the chief of the IRS Independent Office of Appeals, will exit the agency Sept. 1, according to a person familiar with the situation.
Askey will also be on annual leave for the month of August and during that time will be replaced by John Hinding, director of specialized examination programs and referrals at Appeals in an acting capacity.
