IRS Shutdown Plan Likely to Furlough Some Workers, Union Says

The IRS may furlough some workers if the government shuts down later this month—a deviation from early conversations and last year’s contingency plan, according to the president of the union for IRS employees.

“NTEU became aware from our members that the IRS was developing a new contingency plan that includes furloughing some of its workforce,” said National Treasury Employees Union President Doreen Greenwald in a statement Friday.
