California would update its conformity to federal tax law changes for the first time in a decade under a bill the Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee passed unanimously on Wednesday.
The bill (S.B. 711) would conform the California Revenue and Taxation Code to some of more than 1,000 changes to the federal Internal Revenue Code from Jan. 1, 2015, to Jan. 1, 2025. California doesn’t automatically adopt most federal changes and must enact legislation to do so.
