Jennifer Best, who left the IRS last week as acting commissioner of the agency’s Large Business and International Division, is joining the tax practice group at law firm Baker McKenzie, the firm said Monday.
Best left the IRS Friday, the latest of numerous IRS leaders to depart in recent months. She had served as acting commissioner since LB&I head Holly Paz was placed on administrative leave in July for unspecified alleged conduct against Republicans.
Best had been at the IRS for 15 years. Before becoming acting LB&I commissioner, she served as the division’s deputy commissioner.
