PwC Members Approve Advisory Head Kande as International Leader

December 4, 2023, 4:27 PM UTC

PwC said Monday that its global advisory leader Mohamed Kande would become the audit and advisory network’s new chair after being approved by its member firms in 151 countries.

He will succeed Bob Moritz, who is retiring at the end of June after eight years as global chair. Kande, the first Black person to be chair of the network, has been appointed for a four-year term starting July 1.

  • Kande, 56, said in a statement that he is taking over in a time of rapid change globally. “I am extremely confident that PwC has the right strategy, the right multidisciplinary operating model and the right values in place to help our clients through these challenges and opportunities,” he said.
  • Kande, a CPA, is vice-chair of US consulting solutions as well as advisory leader for PwC’s global arm. He is also CEO of the firm’s consulting businesses in the US, Mexico, and Japan, according to his LinkedIn profile.
  • He takes over as PwC, also known as PricewaterhouseCoopers, grapples with the fallout from a tax-leaking scandal in Australia as well as softer demand for consulting services. The firm is also looking for a new boss for its US arm after Tim Ryan announced in October that he would retire in June.
