Alaska 2025 Unemployment Insurance Employer Tax Rate to Be 1%

The unemployment insurance tax rate for experienced employers in Alaska will be 1% unless they are subject to the state’s 5.4% penalty rate, according to a publication from the Alaska Labor and Workforce Development Department.

The 1% rate applies to all experienced employers in the first 20 rate classes of Alaska’s experience rate table, according to the publication. Employers assigned to Rate Class 21 will be subject to the state’s 5.4% penalty rate.

Alaska already announced that all new employers will be subject to a 1% rate and that all employees will be subject to a 0.5% rate.
