The minimum wage in Bellingham, Washington, will increase to $17.66 from $17.28 effective Jan. 1, 2025, according to an Oct. 17 update on the city’s website.
Currently, Bellingham law requires the minimum wage to be $1 higher than the statewide rate, which will be $16.66 for 2025, according to the website.
Starting May 1, 2025, the local minimum wage will need to be $2 higher than the statewide rate, under the city’s municipal code. Accordingly, Bellingham’s minimum wage will increase to $18.66 on May 1.
