Kansas Announces 2025 Unemployment Insurance Tax Rates

Kansas announced its unemployment insurance tax rates for 2025 on the state labor department’s website.

Tax rates for experienced employers will range from zero to 6.65%, compared to a range of 0.16% to 6% for 2024, according to the website. The rate changes were caused by a recent law that adjusted the tax schedules by lowering rates for positive-rated employers and increasing rates for negative-rated employers.

New employers will generally be subject to a 1.75% unemployment insurance rate for 2025, but the rate for new employers in the construction industry will be 5.55%, according to the website. These rates ...
