Los Angeles Delays Wage Raises for Hotel, Airport Workers

Los Angeles, California, postponed scheduled minimum wage increases for hotel and airport workers under an ordinance effective June 29.

The city passed a law last year to raise the minimum wage for these workers to $30 by 2028.

Ordinance 188944 reduces the scheduled minimum wage increases of the 2025 law, so the minimum wage will rise to $30 for hotel and airport workers by 2030 instead of 2028. However, the minimum wage for these workers will rise to $25 from $22.50 effective July 1, 2026, which is the same as the increase under the 2025 law.
