Los Angeles Hotel Worker Minimum Wage Suspended Indefinitely

A new Los Angeles, California, ordinance increasing the minimum wage for hotel and airport workers is being suspended indefinitely while a referendum against the law is under review, according to a July 23 press release from the city clerk.

Ordinance 188610 was enacted in May and was going to increase the minimum wage for hotel and airport workers on July 1. However, a referendum against the ordinance has received enough signatures to suspend the ordinance and prevent it from ever taking effect, according to the press release.
