New Jersey’s total unemployment insurance tax rate for employees in 2025 will be 0.425%, according to an update on the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s website.
The tax rate consists of a 0.3825% unemployment insurance rate and a 0.0425% workforce development-supplemental workforce fund assessment, according to the website.
New Jersey’s unemployment-taxable wage base, which is $43,300 for 2025, will also apply to the employee tax rate, according to the website.
New Jersey is one of only three states that assesses an unemployment insurance tax on employees.
