The Puerto Rico Department of Labor and Human Resources confirmed in a June 13 news release that the territory’s hourly minimum wage will rise to $10.50 from $9.50 effective July 1.
The minimum wage was scheduled to rise to $10.50 only if the Puerto Rico Minimum Wage Evaluation Commission approved the rate increase before the July 1 effective date.
The approval follows a minimum wage report that was published on the department’s website on June 13.
