Santa Monica, California, Announces Minimum Wage Raise July 1

The hourly minimum wage in Santa Monica, California, will increase to $17.81 from $17.27 effective July 1, according to an update on the city’s website.

The $17.81 rate will be in effect from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Santa Monica has yet to update its minimum wage poster to reflect the increase.

Santa Monica has the same minimum wage rate and July 1 increase as Los Angeles County, where the city is located. Santa Monica bases its annual minimum wage increases on consumer price index data for the entire Los Angeles metropolitan area, according to the website ...
