South Dakota Confirms 2026 Minimum Wage Increases

South Dakota’s hourly minimum wage will rise to $11.85 from $11.50 for calendar year 2026, according to an update on the Department of Labor and Regulation website.

The tipped minimum wage will rise to $5.925 per hour, up from $5.75 per hour for 2025, according to the website.

The update confirms Bloomberg Tax’s Sept. 12 calculations.

The department released a minimum wage poster for 2026 in English and Spanish. South Dakota has no mandatory posting requirements, and posters are provided for informational purposes only, according to the website.
