IRS Selects Acting Chief for Independent Office of Appeals

Elizabeth Askey will serve as the acting chief of the IRS Independent Office of Appeals, the agency said Monday.

Askey, who is currently deputy chief, steps in for Andrew Keyso who will retire on March 31 after more than 33 years at the agency. She became deputy chief in 2022.

The IRS Independent Office of Appeals is an independent function from the agency and helps taxpayers resolve tax controversies without litigation.
