Liberty Global Inc. has called on a Colorado district court to dismiss the government’s $284 million lawsuit, saying officials didn’t comply with the statutory requirements for bringing the case.
The telecommunications company filed a motion for dismissal Monday with the US District Court for the District of Colorado, arguing that the government failed to send it a notice of deficiency when it filed its lawsuit in October 2022, calling it a “fundamental, statutory prerequisite for bringing a civil action for the collection of taxes.”
